AIOS – All India Ophthalmological society was established in the year 1930. At present it has more than 11,000 members. The aim of the society is to promote the study, research and practice in the science of ophthalmology across the country and enhance the social relations among the members. The society has various statutory committees to execute its vast activities in the field of ophthalmology and this domain relates to the Scientific Committee of AIOS, which has the mandate to carry out the scientific activities.
Scientific Committee - AIOS
The scientific committee will be elected once in three years and the committee consists of a Chairman and seven elected members and ex-officio members. The committee organizes and regulates all the scientific activities of the society. The committee conducts two annual meetings among its members to conclude upon the scientific programme of the annual conference of the society and any other scientific meet to be conducted at national and international level under the guidance of the society.
To enhance the communication between the members of the society to discuss, clear clinical doubts in day-to-day practice, query, suggest and convey opinions the scientific committee is launching an official email group for AIOS members. The email group will work as a discussion forum in which any AIOS member who joins this group will receive email from the admin of this group. The mail may relate to a suggestion, question, information or a clinical doubt raised by a member on which others can give their considered opinion.
